Book Donations
Our Bedelsford sixth form students have been engaged in a remarkable project aimed at promoting the joy of reading. This initiative involved students from Eagles Class sharing their enthusiasm for literature with younger students at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School.
As part of this project, each student in the Eagles Class has carefully selected three books from our school library, that they wished to donate to St Mary’s School. This thoughtful gesture not only demonstrates our students’ love for reading but also fosters a sense of community and encourages literacy among young learners.
This experience has been invaluable, in further developing a culture of reading and help to establish connections between different educational provisions.
Once pupils had chosen their books to donate and they had been delivered, the entirety of sixth form came together in an assembly in which we were able to talk directly with the students of St Mary’s over a Teams video call.
It was wonderful to see how overwhelmingly grateful and appreciative the students of St Mary’s were to receive such lovely books.
All the sixth form students from Eagles, Swans and Phoenix were delighted and excited in equal measure, to have made such a positive impact on the lives of others.
We are immensely proud of our students for their commitment to enriching the lives of others and promoting the joy of reading.
