Celebrating Apprentices
For National Apprenticeship Week 2023, the Trust has been celebrating the many apprentices who work across the Trust. One of our Bedelsford apprentices, Joe, has been featured on the Trust’s website as part of this campaign to encourage more potential apprentices to consider taking part in the programme.
Joe has worked at Bedelsford School for four years and started his Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship, at Bedelsford School in January 2021. He has experience working in primary, secondary and Sixth Form, giving him a wide range of knowledge and experience working with children across all Key Stages.
Joe has been trained to run attention sessions and has been doing this in class and is “incredible in delivering these sessions” says Mary Yateem, the class teacher he currently works with.
Joe also supports children through Zones of Regulations sessions, supporting children to learn about emotions and recognising how they are feeling and how to self-regulate and manage feelings, such as what to do when feeling sad or angry.
Mary Yateem, Class Teacher, says: “Joe is passionate about supporting children’s education and goes above and beyond to ensure children and happy and learning. Joe will always put the children first always and this passion is evident when you watch Joe working with the children”.
Joe’s workplace mentor, Denise Heffernan, says: “Joe continues to work hard on his course. He has been working in a new class from September 2022 and has developed positive relationships with pupils and staff. Joe works well as part of a team and is inspired to allow every child to reach their full potential.”
