Coronation Fun Day
Well done to the Sixth Form students who organised a fabulous Fun Day to help celebrate the Coronation. They organised a number of activities with a royal theme in the playgrounds and across the school for everyone to enjoy. We were lucky that the weather stayed fine for the day and it was a great way to get everyone in the mood for the weekend’s celebrations.
All the classes enjoyed collecting gems when they completed a game successfully to stick on to their cards. Lots of students enjoyed having their face painted with spiders and unicorns being very popular. In the Secondary playground the games were pin the diamond on the King’s Crown, match the royal baby photos and the ever-popular water pistol range.
There was a find the royal castle game in Forest School and spin the wheel and hook a duck in the Primary playground. Inside we had a bouncy castle and slide plus a music dome, where students could be popstars. They also were able to pop into the photo booth and accessorise with crowns to record the moment. Other games included a tombola and lucky dip and there was also a sweet stall which proved very popular.
All the activities were manned by the students in Phoenix and Eagle classes who collected tokens and helped the younger students enjoy the day. A huge amount of work behind the scenes went into the Fun Day, so thanks to staff, students and their families who went out into the community to ask for donations and gathered prizes and resources to run the day. The students raised an amazing £499. Well done!
