Duke of Edinburgh Award

Students are encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. To complete the award students need to regularly participate in a sporting activity, volunteering and to learn a skill. They also need to undertake an expedition which involves being away from home overnight. We are pleased to be able to offer students the opportunity to participate in the award and undertake the expedition in a safe environment.

We are grateful to Kingston Academy who allowed our students to use their grounds to camp overnight. Students worked really hard on the safety elements of camping, along with learning some first aid, navigations skills, orienteering an cooking.

Congratulations to the four students in Phoenix Class who complete their Duke of Edinburgh award in July 2023. Five students in Eagle class also took part in the expedition which is a massive step towards completing their Bronze award.
