Leading Parent Partnership Award
We are pleased to announce that the school has been awarded the Leading Parent Partnership Award. This is a national award which recognises the work the school does in partnership with parents and carers. The school has been redeveloping our parental partnerships offer post pandemic and engaging families in activities, events and forums.
The final report acknowledged the work that has gone into achieving the award and the assessor made the following comments:
“There is a real sense of community at Bedelsford and parents feel a full part of this and as a community they celebrate every success and achievement of each pupil and face challenges together.”
“The school’s commitment to effective parental engagement is deeply rooted in the school’s ethos and culture and is embraced by the leadership team. The school have expanded provision and involvement of parents to draw them back into the school community as the school emerged from lockdowns.”
“Staff at all levels are highly supportive of their families who see them as a key ally in navigating the many challenges of raising a disabled child. Parents reported a strong bond of trust and feeling respected and valued by staff and a genuine feeling of working in partnership in the best interests of their child.”
The award, which is made for three years, is not the end of the journey but the beginning and the school is committed to further developing parental engagement!
