New Minibus unveiled

We were excited to cut the ribbon on our brand-new minibus that we have been fundraising towards for the last two years. Thanks to generous donations from The Friends of Bedelsford School (FOBS) and The Victoria Foundation the new minibus is already transporting pupils to and from activities.

Pupils told Trustees from the Victoria Foundation and the hard-working FOBS volunteers how excited they were to see the new minibus. Pupils presented hand-made cards featuring the minibus at a special event to thank everyone for their generosity. They also used Makaton signing and their AAC devices to share some of the trips the new minibus would enable them to take.

As the new minibus is fully accessible, it means every pupil at the school can be transported to all the many activities from swimming and cycling to residential trips and the upcoming Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

Raja Ram, Trustee of The Victoria Foundation, said as he helped to cut the ribbon, “The Victoria Foundation is delighted to be able to help towards funding this new minibus for the pupils of Bedelsford. We know it will help support transforming the lives of the pupils here. We wanted to thank Nikki Williams and the members of St George’s Hill Golf Club for their generous support of TVF which made our grant towards the minibus possible.”

Jen Allen, Chair of FOBS, said “Thank you to all staff and families who have supported our fundraising initiatives such as attending the Surbiton Farmers’ Market last summer and our Christmas and Easter hampers, which has enabled us to raise funds and help provide this new resource.”

Jessica Beaton, Interim vice principal, thanked everyone for their generous support, “We are so grateful to everyone who has contributed and helped towards funding our new minibus. It will enable us to continue to ensure every pupil can access off-site activities and enhance their learning.”
